Building Resilience

Psychosomatic pain or symptoms simply can be explained as a conversation between your mind and body. These types of symptoms are usually caused by fear, negligence, rejection, and stress. That's why you feel migraines when you are depressed or had a stressful day at work. You can have eczema flare-ups or hives when you encounter challenging situations that alarm your autonomic nervous system, hence allergic reactions. Another example that happens often in children is digestive issues with unknown anxiety. It's a tug a war between your body asking for attention and help and your inner ego - that state that takes over unconsciously for many reasons.

We don't have to be in pain for the rest of our lives. We can get help. We can support one another. We can work together. We can live in Peace.

Building resilience through the process is key. We can commit to our bodies, health, mind, and symptoms all at once with mindfulness and practicing somatic therapies. Increase body awareness with grounding exercises and start reclaiming your energy. You will still have stress or situations that come up out of the blue, but with resilience, you have the tools and mindset to take on hard tasks for your body. With resilience you are reminding your nervous system that you are powerful. With resilience, those bumps of the road no longer feel like rollercoaster drops because now you understand your body and protect it.

How can we build resilience? Let's focus on perspective, self-regulation, connection, and decisions. Maintain the vision of the controlling what you can without feeling like you have to carry the weight alone. One step at a time. One symptom at a time. One day turns into one week, turns into one month, and to one year.

Every time you approach your day with self-compassion and ease, is a day where you are rewiring your brain so the next challenge will be seen minimal.
